Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill (2022)

STUDIO Musical: (MOVED!) May 13 - 29, 2022

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill

The time is 1959. The place is a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday’s last performances, given four months before her death. More than a dozen musical numbers are interlaced with salty, often humorous, reminiscences to project a riveting portrait of the lady and her music.

Audience Advisory:
This production contains strong adult language, themes, and discussions that are inappropriate for young children.

While we continue to adapt to the challenges that COVID is creating for our lives and our theater, it has become necessary to reschedule Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill to new dates in May.

With the intimate nature of The Studio, there is no way possible for us to keep the space safe and distanced. Mounting a production in the space at this point would put 60+ in close contact with each other for over 1.5 hours. The unmitigated spread of the Omicron variant means we would not be able to ensure the safety of our audience, theater staff, or production team.

How will we reschedule?

The new show dates are May 13 – 29, 2022. We will automatically move all purchased seats to their respective dates in the new schedule. For example, if you were seeing the show on Saturday of the first weekend (January 15th), your new date will be May 14th, which is the first Saturday performance of the new dates. Your tickets will be good for the new dates, no need to reprint or re-issue.

Can I choose a new date or get a refund?

We understand the changes can be frustrating and that the new dates may not fit your schedule. Changes or refunds can be requested via the Box Office by calling – 850-224-8474. For faster service, you can email your name and original show date with your requested change to

We share your frustration with the rescheduling and hope that we can soon get back to business as usual.

Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon!
