Every Christmas Story Ever Told
Holiday Special Event: Dec 7-17, 2023
Written by Michael Carleton, James FitzGerald, John K. Alvarez
Instead of performing Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic for the umpteenth time, three actors decide to perform every Christmas story ever told — plus Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture, and every carol ever sung. A madcap romp through the holiday season!
Is this show family friendly?
This show has a very slapstick, zany, Three Stooges type of comedy in the same vein as The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). References are made to all kinds of Holiday pop culture from the Macy’s parade to movies like A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story to TV Specials like the Grinch and Frosty the Snowman. Some references may go over young children’s heads. References are made to traditional religious Christmas (and Hanukkah and Kawanza) stories and celebrations from around the world. The show is not particularly reverent, but also not really offensive. However the question of whether or not Santa Claus is real does come up, so that might be something to consider for small children who still believe.
