A Streetcar Named Desire

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Written by Tennessee Williams

Mainstage: June 8 - 25, 2017

This renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and brother-in-law, Stanley, in New Orleans. Blanche’s flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household. Dark and turbulent, A Streetcar Named Desire is often regarded as one of the greatest plays of the 20th century, and as Tennessee Williams’ finest work.
